power limit of evo drivetrains

NOW please dont shoot me and let me know if this has been covered before ,But i dont see the facts anyware

What max power can the 2 different drivtrains handle 5 and 6 ??

The reason for me asking is there is a 'expert' on the Nissan brand telling me the evo drivtrains are all weak ,I want the experts here to give me facts so i know exactely what i can say

Thanks

5 speeds reach the gray area around 550 wheel torque and 6 speeds around 500 wheel torque.

542//467 is an ideal setup for a 6 speed. It has good ratios and I'm sure that is a blast to drive.

a bad driver can break one at the track pretty easily by side stepping the clutch. I was at 600awhp/500tq area for a very long time without problems. When my 5-speed started acting up it was the night I began powershifting. I did the buschur treatment to the tranny and never had another problem.

Those are some pretty impressive numbers for a stock box.

I have 461awhp w/ 381ft/lbs (stock block, on 93, @ 25psi on a Journal FP Black turbo) on my 06 MR 6-Speed. It's the original transmission; has never given me a bit of grief, on my third clucth - Exedy Twin Disc. Currently the trans. has 63K+ miles on it, the Exedy Twin Disc has about 1k.

Then again, I've also NEVER launched my EVO. I just don't trust the 6-speed for launching until SHEP has had their hands, and ways through the entire drive-train. Drive train build is first-next- before I add any more power to my EVO. I just hope I have the strength to hold on to my money for the drive-train build, instead of buying a nice set of Volks.

I lauch mine, all day. It doesn't make a ton of power, but I feel like if you are gonna have awd, you might as well use it for digs.
