Turbo selection for a 2.4

ok guys i have a maperformance stage 2 2.4

9.7:1
all there bells and whistles.
will be running E-85

so for the longest time ive had the fp black in mind for my turbo since its a proven performer. record is what 713hp? so far..

ive also had my eye on the fp hta gt 3582, i hear spool is decent but havent found much results or seen any on a 2.4 so id like some opinons on how it might or might not perform. and what a/r would be best?

i plan to shift at 8500...

so fp black, hta gt3582, other suggestions?

Of those two I'd opt for the 3582hta because of the BB center cartriage.

i really havent seen that many results from an hta gt3582... they say it spools alright.. but i dont want to go to big if im shifting at 8500 and the turbo doesnt want to make power till late.. it would be dumb to get a turbo thats good to 10k when i shift at 8500.

HTA 3582 TS 1.06 T4. This should deliver immediacy on the 2.4L. motor.

You tell us your supporting mods but not your plans for the car and ultimate goals. Something like this would be helpful:

Drag/street, 800hp and 9sec car

Autocross/street, 600hp and ultra responsive

HPDE/Track Day, super reliable, etc etc

Lets see what you are wanting to do before we can make a good recomendation. But it *sounds like* you are looking for crazy HP for a street car??? But I don't know because you didn't verbalize it and I don't like assuming

you would assume correct, street machine and ocasional drag strip. i have a few options w the head.. but it will be fully built in the end, thinking kelford 280s? , 2150cc fics, shep built tranny and transfer, spark tech, hoping to get a deal on an intake mani, otherwise a map rev 2 or 3 for now. thinking of running a full ets intercooler system, this is an in the works project, so nothing is final.

damn a 2.4 with all that built stuff. If you want to do EVERYTHING. Drag, autox, reliable track days and just dd i would look at the tak33r that cbrd can do for you. They run it on their time attack car and it spools up quick like a 30r with 35r power. Im sure the 2.4 you could make it your ***** lol.

Since it's a street machine, with 2150cc injectors I'm going to assume you are shooting for 700hp+? If that is correct the CBRD 33r will be out of it's league, a 35r of any flavor should be able to get you there (on e85), but will be pushed hard. 6765 should work and not be over taxed, and the new 37r from FP would be a good fit and won't be pushed too hard.

with these big turbos will i be in the right powerband? cause il be shifting by 8500, but its not a drag only car so i would like it to spool at a decent time

With the 37r it's a really new turbo...so not many have ran it. But reports are just a tad more laggy than a 35. So with a 2.4, high compression ratio, e85, and the resulting timing you can run on e85 I bet you would spool it up just fine.

For a 6767, or 6765, etc they have been around enough where you can go look for dyno sheets in the dyno section and find a few with your setup to see how they spool. But it shouldn't be too bad either.
