The Turbo Kits Thread

Hi guys,

with all the new turbo kits that are popping out lately, i tought it will be a good idea to set up a thread where we can have all the info on the various kits located in one place.

this is the info each vendor should include:

1) what is included with the kit.
2) number for the kit (WHP etc..)
3) pics of the kit.
4) warrenty and other comments about the kit.
5) and of course Price and availabilty

special request - Due to the nature of this board to take threads off-topic and destroy a thread by getting into pissing matches and personal insult, i request that only vendors will post in this thread. however, if you have 1 of the turbo kits you are more than welcome to post some pics and say a few words on the kit. i am going to talk to a moderator about deleting all posts that have nothing to do with the subject or posts that only intended to start a flame war.

thanks a lot

Okay I guess I'll start. Upcoming GT35R kit or spec R kit as I will call it.

Stainless equal length manifold
40mm Tial wastegate (with pipe to run outlet into downpipe if you purchase our downpipe with it)
Garrett GT35R ball bearing Turbo with custom housing
O2 housing pipe which will bolt onto stock downpipe or our downpipe.
All stainless lines plug and play

Expected price of $2999 not including our downpipe
$3300 with our downpipe/cat delete/wategate pipe

Bolt on plug and play with optional PE/Denso injectors offered (required to make full power that this kit is capable of delivering)

We may offer a GT30R version of the above kit labelled the Spec S kit for slightly less but we are finalizing the GT35R kit first.

GT35R kit avaialble before Xmas. Should lay down over 500 whp easily.
GT30R kit available soon therafter and should lay down 400 whp easily.

All piping on kit including manifolds will feature a lifetime warranty against defects just like our downpipe/cat delete pipes offer currently. The wastegate and turbo offer their respective manufacturer warranties of 1 year.

very attractive price! Lets see some pics please, thanks. Are you forced to buy the downpipe so that the w/gate bolts in?

Lets not forget real world pump gas hp figures and at what rpm the turbos reach full boost... out of all the different cars running around, it seems more Evo owners want to be able to fill up next to the Porsche TT at the local Tiger Mart than any other. I hope this post and the few above are deleted after the points are taken in order to keep it clean.

The GT35R will lay down the same amount of power give or take on both kits above. I'm just very conservative with numbers and will not make the claim that the GT35R will make 650 whp. In fact the turbo is rated at 600 HP by Garrett at the crank but they are always conservative. I'd say 650 at the crank is about it's capacity. Our testing will reveal what kinds of numebrs it pulls on pump v race fuel. We will be posting all the dyno charts from our testing (whcih is done in house on an AWD Dynapack dyno).

Our prototype manifold can be seen on our site under products in development, under the EVO.

There is a something I would like to point out about us. The EVO has a 4g63 in it. We have been tuning the 4g63 for right at 15 years now. We have gone from the first guys to hit 12's with this engine all the way to the first to the 7's with this engine.

Needless to say we have tested COUNTLESS turbo's over the years and have been involved with product development that is now widely used on these engines with quite a few different turbo companies.

The numbers that we are advertising with our kits is to the WHEELS. These aren't numbers we were handed by the guy building the turbo as a guess. These are numbers we have already put to the ground in DSM's for the last 15 years, they are facts, not guesses.

With that here is what you will be getting in our kits:

New Ni-resist cast manifold. (This is a super high quality piece that we designed in house, had the core box built to have cast and found a company we were comfortable with to do the casting for us. There will be NO durability issues with this. To say it is over built is an understatement.)

New high flow tubular 02 housing. (304 SS, 3/8" thick 304 SS flanges. This will bolt to your stock downpipe or any other downpipe on the market. The only problem any may have is if you use a downpipe with the factory large donut gasket. The flange may have to be changed, we can supply it.)

New turbo. (Turbo will be of your choice. We currently have turbo's that will bolt to this manifold that will offer good spool up and still make 475 whp. We have others that have already been tested and proven to make over 600 whp. One of these turbos we are running on our Conquest Street car with a 4g63 that has gone 8.7 at 151 mph)

Oil feed and return lines.

Bolts, gaskets and plumbing to adapt to either you stock FMIC or an aftermarket unit.

This kit is going to priced COMPLETE at $2500. I don't think we will be off on this price. Since we are building this kit basically here we are able to keep the price low, just like our other parts.

One other thing that I think it important. Our turbo kit is going to use the stock heat shield on the manifold. This kit is going to be very hard to tell that it isn't stock. Granted the turbo/manifold are larger than stock, from an onlooker that isn't very familar with the car or at quick glance from someone that is it is going to appear to be stock.

David- I go on road course a lot and hardly ever go to the drag strip. However I lack a LOT of top end on the straightaways. What turbo would be good for that which I could get for ur turbo kit. I dont want to much lag. What would you reccomend and what have you put in for cars that go on road courses mainly and how was the lag issue(what rpm full boost). Thnx

I would reccomend our stage 1 turbo kit. It will spool about the same, but make a lot more power and torque through entire power band.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

INTERNAL I have already asked the same question and that's what David told me.
