Revs hold for split-second while boosting?

As the title implies, my Evo IX seems to hold the revs around 4k for a split-second while boosting. This happened today when I decided to get on it a bit entering the highway in 3rd gear. Now, the turbo kicked in and as I watched the tachometer, the revs stayed at 4k for a bit before going up normally. Any solutions to this?

Sounds kind of like a slipping clutch.

This is a issue for all 05+ EVO 8/9s. Its "throttle hang" and you have to eliminate it in the ECU.

Is it correctable from a dealership reflash or would it have to be a tune that fixes it? I hope its not my clutch lol

You would know if it was your clutch. If your applying power and its slipping its your clutch, if the rev's are just staying up when you shift, its "rev hang"....and it can be tuned out...not sure if there is a dealer flash or not..

Yeah, it seems fine to me. The throttle hang happens when I just decide to smash on the accelerator. If I gradually take it above 4k rpm, it's fine.
