Engine Assembly ?'s

Hey everyone, its been a bout a year since I've been on here and my Evo has sat for well over a year with no engine or interior

Well I want to bring it back to life now. But.... I honest to god do not remember how to put the engine back together. Basically what I have is a new built shortblock, new built head, cometic head gasket, nwe oil pump and water pump and thats it. everything else is packed away in boxes.

If anyone can tell me where to find diagrams to put all this stuff back together I would greatly appreciate it.

I wish I could afford to send it to a shop and have it assembled but thats a bit out of my budget right now so I have to do it myself on my lift at work

You just need to Google around for the FSM. Tells you everything you need to know.

Here is a link to the fsm's
http://www.evoscan.com/vehicle-manuals

Just be careful to double check the torque spec conversions I almost trashed my camshafts because the torque spec said 98 ftlbs for the trigger wheel bolt but the newton meters were 22 nm which converts to 16 ftlbs which is what it says in the torque specs thread. luckily mitsu made some quality parts so even though I tried torqueing it to 98 twice I didn't strip out the threads on the camshaft.

go on the evoscan website and download the FSM. It has all the info you need to put back your engine. I had mine sitting disassembled for over a year, let me tell you that FSM really came in handy.

I went back and looked at what you are referring to. That's crazy I never noticed that, luckily I used and went by all the Nm specs anyhow so never really noticed that glitch. 22 Nm is like a spark plug, 98 ft lbs is like an SUV lugnut, Big difference in torque, haha.

Yeah I came from sbc's so I'm a ft lbs guy. And I thought it was a bit much but I told myself the mitsubishi engineers are a lot smarter than I am so I went with it. You can bet that's the last time I make that mistake haha. Def double checking torques from now on.
