Be careful, its possible your store you were getting it from has old oil before mobil1 switched over to their garbage mix to accomodate for the emission friendly bullcrap where they remove half the zinc so it doesnt clog the catalytic converter. I would switch asap! If you dont FP will see this on the forum and void your warranty for not listening to advice given.

im just trying to scare some sense into him From my experience, FP would still cover it even if he said hes running bad oil.. FP has an EXTREMELY good warranty service.

How many other turbo manufacturers do you know that will rebuild your turbo free of charge and within 5 days turn around time after you've told them you spun a rod bearing
and they found a piece of rod bearing in your turbo? I was very happy they fixed it free, and I am a lifetime customer of FP now forever.

Yeah I'm with you. They make a great product and stand behind it, no need to go elsewhere.

so basically every car that has a turbo shouldn't be using oil that's not on the fp list?

Any car that has an FP Red or FP Black, but if FP recommends it for use on their turbos then why not use it for your engine even if you don't run one of those turbos.

whats the difference on what turbo you have? All turbos pretty much have the same components. I'm not trying to go against you bro, just asking

The FP Red and Black use a steel on steel bareing as opposed to a normal turbo thats a brass on steel bareing

No problem, my point is if those oils are what Fp says to use because of the bareings then I would think it would be better to use those oils in an application slightly less dependant on the oil being used.

AMSOIL is 100% synthetic, Brad Penn is not.
