you right i jus did the math and it would use a 162mm rod.

in order to use a 156mm rod you would need to use a 2.0l piston but that would take the long rod benefits away.

What do i need for it too work in my Evo besides change the cam gears?

can someone send me links to where to destroke a motor? like were to buy the parts
did your stock motor go or are you just getting that weird feeling about your car? lol. as soon as i started making good power on stock block i felt really weird and went built motor asap to avoid killing a good motor.. so i sold my motor to someone here and bought another to send in as a core and guess what UPS did they cracked the block so i got screwed 600 bux regardless

If you sell your motor whatever you do use a freight service so it gets there safe and sound on a pallet + pallet wrap. 2.1L is a good choice, its an overall badass motor.

If your looking for a DOHC 4g64 that you can use cam gears ect.. you can look for a 4g64 out of a KIA optima or a Hyundai Sonata 2.4l. these have a DOHC Mitsubishi head with the correct timing belt and cam gears .

The 01-05 dodge stratus has a 4g64 in it. See for yourself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Stratus

Like I said there in tons of cars that people dont know there in.

DSM 2.4 block are not interchangeable. Be careful on what Stratus you pull them out of and what 99 galant you get the block out of.

my stocker in my car is fine. Just would feel better in pushing with a built motor and then have a good stocker laying around

For a simple answer, as long as the block is facing the same way as it does in a evo it will work.

Why doesnt the 2g 4g64 work? I know someone put a 2g 4g63 into a 3g eclipse with a 3g eclipse head. They had to mod one bracket but thats it as far as they told me.
