If the crank came from an auto vehicle there is a spacer in the centre of the crank that you need to use a wrench to pull it out. Once it is a 7bolt crank it will work. I had the same issue

Yes looking at it at first it looks like its part of the crank but if u use a big pliers and give it a good twist it will come out.

Cbuster77 its called a pilot bushing, you need to remove it and then install one from a 5 speed car. If you dont install the one from a 5-speed car, the clutch alignment tool will have nowhere to slide into. You can buy a new pilot bushing from the dealer for about $6.

I remember you from somewhere either TGC or club3g? cant remember....

Either way, you dont need to remove the pan or anything like that. You if you have a good pair of vice grips or a monkey wrench, you can get it out with some patience and persuasion. Another way I have found very effective is to pack the hole in the center of the bushing with grease, insert a dowel that fits snugly into the hole (I got a wood one from home depot) then take one nice swing with a hammer into the dowel, the pressure from the grease will force the bushing out and may cause a little mess too. When you go to install the 5 speed bushing, see if it just goes in easy, if not, throw it in the freezer for 3 hours then try it, the metal will shrink a bit when cold, could help it go in.
