clunking noise when i turn deep?????????????

Ok. I jus put a clutch in my 03 evo last saturday. When installing the axels bck in I noticed the spline from the tranny was out 4 inches farther than normal. So I jus tapped it back in. So tonight I wanted to try to launch my car. I lauched it at 4 grand ( not to drastic ). N when I cut my wheel all the way I hear a clunking noise. I jacked the car up in nuetral n the front tires catch when I spin them. does the rod from the tranny have anything to do with this or is that normal for it to slide out a couple inches?? The axels look to b n good shape and they are all the way in the tranny. Please help. Thx.

Well, I've read your post a couple of times and I still don't understand what you are talking about. Maybe other people are in the same boat.

ok, forgive me for the bad summary of what happened, and the damn title ( was on my phone when posted ). alright. i read up on my problem and it was the t-case on another guys car. so let me tell you guys exactly what happened since im on my PC now.

I recently put a new clutch and flywheel in my car. when doing so the intermediate shaft, the splined shaft that comes from the inside of the tranny that the driver side axel connects to, it slid out the tranny. so i jus hit it back in with a rubber mallot. the outside side ( axel connect side ) had the clip on it. i didnt take it all the way out the tranny to see if the other side was still intact ( clip). so i put everything back together, broke in my clutch, and with bout 500 miles i wanted to launch my car. this is the first time doing so after i installed the clutch. so i only launched it at 4500 rpm and after doin so i was turning around and heard a loud clunking noise when i cut my car deep to the left. sooo i was wondering if it has to do anything with the intermediate shaft coming out the tranny or is it my diff or t--case?

hopefully you guys will understand this post a lil better. thx for reading and any advice would help greatly. thx!!!!

ok i drained the tranny and t-case fluids about 10 min ago. the tranny fluid was nasty, like brown colored. but only metal shavings on the plug itself. the t-case fluid looked great, no metal shavings. so i am stuck. cant tell where my problem is.
