Went to Synapse DV after a TiAL QR... Night and day difference. I can actually enjoy driving my car.

Running experimental spring that Aby and TeKiZeRo are running in pull mode with just port A hooked up. Holds boost fine, boost response is slow to me. Tried 2 turns of preload with no difference.

Port B only hooked up had bad results for me. Slight flutter during boost. Boost would drop if I held partial throttle... Almost like it blew off.

Might try both A and B but I kinda don't want to play with it anymore. Just going to enjoy the great drivability.

I just read in another thread that the Synapse holds 150psi and requires no adjustments,no spring swaps,etc....Now this thread implies something very different.

It seems to me there should be different DVs based upon the psi and vacuum requirements (probably why Forge and others supply different springs). When people experience the 'flutter', it is because the DV has opened and sent air back into the intake. My understanding is that adding a stiffer spring solves the part throttle flutter, but you have to make sure the spring is not too stiff otherwise the DV won't open and release pressure when it should (eg when you let off throttle).

I have been fiddling with my Forge unit and so far the results sound similar to the Synapse. I wish I could do a back to back swap and compare.

150 psi is the original Synapse "BOV". The new "DV" is rated to 60 psi.

why would synapse release another BOV that doesn't work as good as the first one?
reading what you guys have written, this BOV gets surge on part throttle and low boost lift off.
my older style synapse bov with port C has ZERO surge. I can't get it to surge at all.

installed mine in the stock orientation/location with A+B hooked up. It feels better than the stocker most of the time, but the flutter at part throttle in 6th is a lot worse than the stocker. the stocker just made noise, but this one bucks and jumps. I'm going to play with it some when I have a chance, but so far I don't know if I like this thing.

I hate problems, and I hate **** you have to play with to make it work. It would be nice if they just sold a product that worked when you hooked it up.

Here's pics of my install mrfred. As you can see it's in push but not in the "direct factory replacement" configuration. I felt the valve would have the best response in push mode if it could be as close to the UICP pressure as possible thus the no pressurized BOV hose setup.

Since I took these pics I have eliminated port A and am currently running B only. I really haven't had any flutter since in normal driving. I did try to make it happen when I switiched to B only to see if it was cured and even that was so light and inconsistant I considered the problem solved.

I should have just ordered the big one. it was $100 cheaper, and didn't seem to have these issues.

Try running just Port B or Port A.

Thats the only thing I dont like about the V1 Synchronic. It's effin giant and difficult to position on the UICP, at least mine because it almost hits the intake pipe. Works like $ though thats for sure

Here is my set-up in "pull" @ "A" port only (closest port to the adj screw)
