carbonetics lifespan?

i just sent my Quartemaster in for rebuild and found out today that every piece except the flywheel is no good. the clutch lasted almost 20k miles and a year on the dot. its rather frustrating finding out that all pieces need replaced when the car was drove 90% of the time on the hyway.

so, i'm looking into the carbonetics twin. anyway know the average life for the carbonetics twin? Thanks for any kind of feedback

It's a drag clutch, not a street clutch. The fact that most of the driving was on the highway is why you got as much as you did out of it.

It lasts longer, but the rebuild cost is about the same as new. I don't know what you have under the hood, but might serve you better to consider something a little more practical.

I agree with TedB that you can find more practical clutches to suit your daily driving.. I have been running mine on the street, highway, road races for about 18K miles and still holding. After it warms up there's no stopping this thing. I love mine, but I cringe when its time for a rebuild. In fact, it's almost ridiculous not to buy new if you go the Carbonetic route.

Exedy would probably be your best choice for DD. Avoid race oriented clutches. Carbonetics isn't any better then CM IMO.

carbonetic is far and away the best quality clutch ive used. ATS is the only that is better. The feel, engagement, holding force and wear are the best ive seen from any clutch. Lightyears improvement compared to anything ive used to date.

If you are making 600tq I would go with the triple. I destroyed my twin, was in the same boat as you where the rebuild price difference didn't make any sense. I ended up getting a triple, got mine from full-race too. Hit them up, I got a great deal.
