good news

exhaust is on. fitment is freaking amazing. more on this later.

car runs. drove it all over town/highway and to the store. running awesome. but under the hood is smoking like a *****. bad.

bad news

the turbo blanket is covered in oil. i mean covered. i think the corner of the turbo blanket is pinched under the return line where it bolts to the turbo. this sucks. 200 bucks wasted. whatever. i am going out to dinner and letting the car cool down. i am taking the blanket off and putting the car back together. i need to get it to CBRD tomorrow morning.

no way to modify the blanket to fit? that sucks.. at least it didn't catch on fire.. that would be the worst case scenario. im sure you can clean the blanket up tho and get rid of all the oil with some kind of special chemical.

btw cbrd = custom fmic? Chad told me about that last summer.

There is no way to save the blanket. Its soked. Like a spunge. I got it off the car and put the return line back on. The problem I had was I put the blanket on first. When I put the return line on it pinched the blanket and did not mate flat to the turbo. What I should have done is put the turbo together with all the lines and then put the blanket on. Which I will do when I get the car back

Yes cbrd is making me a custom rad, uicp, fmic.

yeah this should be a fun project- we are doing a few custom FMIC/RAD/piping projects in the next month or so, ill make sure we post some pics-

we did a car not long ago with custom one piece piping and hargett clamps with less couplers- and the owner was amazed at the difference.

cheers
