where is the ACD fluid resevoir on an 06 mr

I searched and thought the reservoir was in the trunk, I check the trunk and there's two access panels, the one on the passenger side has the windshield washer res and the drivers has nothing. now I don't know if the fluid is good. I'm changing all the gear oils and no I wont be changing the acd fluid but at least wanted to check the level. I'm at a loss. Evo members please assist or let me know.

Not trying to be a d!ck, but you need to get a service manual before you start monkeying around with replacing/modifying anything on the car if you don't even know where the ACD reservoir is located.

He's a newbie. There is a lot of info on this forum. All you need to do is search for what you need. The How-To section is really good. I used it a ton of times

Thanks I appreciate the help. As for monkeying around, I am not a newbie mechanic and very inclined as far as maintenance. I'm an aircraft mechanic for a living. Service manual is in the mail and there is a lot more information off of these forums (when deciphered). I agree a service manual gives u whole breakdown but these forums can be faster and more specific. But I haven't even popped the hood to look for it. I JUST bought it, looked thru the maintenance schedule and changing the oils, fluids. I'm a maintenance **** and just wanted it fresh. I can change gear oil without a service manual, except now I have to search for torque values for all the drain/fill bolts. I appreciate ur help and I totally understand ur just looking out for a fellow evo owner and no ur not a dick.

OK, good. You had me worried there for a minute.

And since you don't consider me a d!ck....IIRC it's 23 ft. lbs. for the transmission and transfer case fill and drain bolts, and then 47 ft. lbs. for the rear diff. drain and 37 lbs. for the rear diff. fill.

so since we r on the subject of the acd resevoir, yes i know its on the driverside behind the headlight, but i have a question, is there any way to relocate this unit on the otherside where the oil intercooler is? reason i ask is i bought an aftermarket oil cooler with fan and the seller said it would fit better on the driverside but could fit where the stock oil intercooler is with minor modifications.

The factory oil cooler works really well. Unless your seriously tracking your evo I see no need to really upgrade. Re routing the acd to the other side is alot of work which you might as well relocate it to a better spot- like in the trunk.
STM and MAP both have nice aftermarket oil coolers that fit nicely in the stock location btw.

really thats intresting, i've heard from plenty of members that the stock oil intercooler is a bit on the crappy side as far as ifficiency is concerned, but then on the flip my car is not a track car by anymeans its a garage queen, i may very well end up selling it as soon as i get it, but it does come with a fan shroud for the oil intercooler, wonder if the fan hround would help, what do u think?

i know 700whp evo's with it.. and mine was at 655whp in the summer time. stock oil cooler is more then enough. if you road course the car and beat the **** out of it on a road course then yes, it needs replaced, but other then that...... no way.

some guys dont even run oil coolers in their evo.
