If you can do the work yourself, I'd go for it. Idle issues suck but thats probably a cheap fix... just change ALL of the fluids (GAS, oil, trans, transfer, diff, coolant, brake) and keep an eye on oil consumption.
I'm definitely jealous of that!

For one I would drain all the fluids before even trying to start it. That oil might have broken down and may clog up some where. After that let it idle and make sure it doesn't overheat. If it doesn't I would buy it but I would consider running some seafoam or something through it and changing the oil again.
y dont you get it scanned first!, it could be a bad IAC it could be something worst...just take the car down to your local or A mitsubishi dealership and let them tell you what the car needs. Us on the forums can only guess and suggest things but the guys at mitsubishi have seen their fare share of evos and have most likely changed a couple parts here and there some of us have no idea was there or how it works. I am a ASE trained mechianic , and i'm telling you this from experience let the Mitsu guys check it out before you buy a headache!

Just change the fluids and you will be fine. If the owner started it and drove it once a year like you said, it will be fine. Nice find!
Im surprised nobody has mentioned this, but call all mitsu dealerships around the area, tell them the VIN and ask if it has ever been in for maintenance, if there's a long history, I'd stay away. If not, pick that bad boy up.
idk, I just hate it when people get insane deals then try to turn around and rape.
