BBK-Full Tuning Issue!!

First, all help is appreciated,

Car: Evo IX

Couple of months ago, I bought a BBK-full with all the supporting mods in a quest to hit 400WHP on Mustang Dyno (93 fuel). The car was 100% stock prior to that..

I sent my car for a tuner who gave me this result, 355WHP, and 356tq on his mustang dyno.. and Even though he claimed the car was set at 29psi as high boost, my greddy Profec EBC registered 2.2 bar (thats nearly 32psi).

As you all can see, the car has one of the all-time worst graphs!! On high boost, the car pulls hard b/w 4K-5K then feels like its on low boost all the way to 7500RPM.

He could not figure out whats wrong.. He claimed that it might be the wastegate or something hes not aware of!! I made a boost-leak test and the car isnt leaking..

In addition, it takes few seconds to start on cold-starts, but if its warm it responds rightaway.. Dont know if thats relevant or not!

Please let me know what is wrong if you've encountered such issue before.. Here, I'm attaching the graph along with the mods list.

BBK-full (self ported)
Cylinder head ported (exhaust & intake ports only)
Exhaust manifold ported
GSC S2 cams
Beehive valvesprings and Ti-retainers
PTE 780cc injectors
Walbro Fuel pump
Greddy Profec-B EBC
ARP head studs
AMSoil 4.5" filter with vibrant 4.5" adapter
3" turbo back (catless but stock O2 housing)
Evo VIII head gasket (3 layers rather than 5)
Exedy Twin clutch HD
CBRD Radiator
CBRD intercooler
ETS LICP
AMS 25-row oil cooler
Synapse synchronic BOV
Spark plugs (1 step colder, I think Denso)
+mods that arent power-related

Thank you

do you have any of the logs...it's a little hard to diagnose certain problems without some data. I think you would get much more feedback if you had a log or 2.

maybe your tuner would allow you access to the logs he has of you.
If not, remember to log the essential item (tps, rpm, timing, knock, afr, load, boost)

Why not try another tuner and do Email tunes with a reputable U.S. tuner? There are several tuners that have great experience with the BBK-Full turbo.

There are a few key things that need to be considered...

Was the car boost leak tested? Is the synchronic hooked up properly (push?pull?)....

Egr lines swapped? Etc...

There is no reason the car shouldn't crank out 400whp with ur mods...

I would also recommend running a 3 port ebcs! If your tuner won't tune it with a 3 port I'd take it somewhere else!!!

Cheers

+1 on another tuner. I have similar mods and much different graph.

CF was set to 1 and no weather correction.

Grimmspeed made all the difference in my tune vs. a car setup exactly the same as mine that had a MBC.

I wanted to go grimmspeed but I understand that it allows me to have one boost level, all day, and 400WHP is too much for me and my stock engine..

correct me if im wrong though..

ThanX

Well, to be fair, u cant call a tuner a good tuner unless he knows the issues he encounters when tuning a car!!! if the car has an issue preventing it from having a good tune (as he claims), then he should know how to discover it!! I had 4 more issues and codes in my car and he couldnt know what they were!!

So for me, hes NOT professional. At all.

both Tensai and a friend of mine made the boost leak thing..

I would love to remember an M3 but i cant at the moment.. more clues?? sorry!

Do you know if the dyno reads exceptionally low ? Has the dyno been calibrated lately ?

Assuming it is NOT the dyno, I would look for the most common culprit which is a boost leak. You say that the tuner and a friend "made a boost leak thing", so I am assuming they know how to properly test for leaks and that you don't have a leak. That said, I am still guessing you have a boost leak or your turbo is DOA.

Can you pressurize the system (up to the throttle body) and hold 30 psi ? I first like to make sure the major problem areas are fine, before I pressurize the intake manifold and test the injector seals.

Maybe Chad can look at your tune or logs and help identify the problem. Good luck

Well I would stress making a thorough boost leak test and make sure that ur TB seals are leak free
I mean as previously said u sould be able to pressurize it and be able to hold 30 psi with no major
Leaks.

On the other hand, we can't call a tuner who is been doing a great job for more than 7 years in the UAE
Unprofessional. Your car having a problem might contributed to such unstatisfying gains but then again
Mustange dynos do read low.

More clues...hmmm well it was the only yellow M3 on campus with sponser stickers.
