I've been getting all my parts from MAP for my 2.4 that I'm building myself right now and I'm building a buddy a 2.3 for his 6bolt dsm. Shoot them a call and they will work out a deal for you.

Reason why some 2.2 set-ups are expensive is because of Internals used.

If you wanted to do a Billet crank 2.3 or 2.4. It would start to get just as costly as a 2.2.

I would ask what you will be using your car for?

If your going to daily drive your car with the occasional Drag or Auto X, then a 2.3 or 2.4 should be good..good street motors.

If your going to Drag race for competition..then most would recommend the 2.1 or a built 2.0

For serious track duty or time attack. Most teams use the 2.2 set-up off the 4G63 block. Its the compromise motor when you need RPM and displacement.

We could argue all day long about how long motors last...but alot of things can come into play regarding engine life. And not enough information to properly get a accurate account on who's engine lasted longer.

Something that can make peak power in the range you want it. If you want a 4k to 8k motor you need something other than a 3586. If you want a 5-9k then that turbo might work well. Power goals vs powerband is how you need to decide any turbocharger choice. What are you looking to do?

i'm just looking to build a fun street machine. i'm avoiding big turbos because i dont want to have an issue with the lag. thats why i'v been leaning towards the bbk-b. or something related to the bbk-b. i'v been researching like crazy the past 4 months trying to determine a good setup

Well like mentioned before... keeping the stock block is a good platform to build a 2.3L cheap. It would be down to what company you get the componets from.

Sounds like you are looking for a turbo in the small/stock frame range. Like BBKB, HKS 7460 or FB black. 450-500 hp range correct?

too early for me to recommend the new Borg warner EFR turbos..but they show promise with a price.

You don't see to many 2.2 bc of the expense, for what you seem to be looking for a Buschur 2.3 seems right up your alley.
A 2.2 is more for a wide pwr band to be used for something like road racing/ drag racing, or someone that can't make up their mind on hp range or if they want a race car or street car.

Nils used to use the GSC 2.2 kit... then got a brand new AMS 2.3RR.

sierra sierra evo uses the 2.2l cosworth IIRC and the cyber Evo has the Tomei 2.2l

You dont hear about them because i dont think they come to this site and brag like everyone else.
