My fp red is overboosting when i pass 5,000rpm, what can I do? it is only 0,8bar and when i grow rpm the fp red want to grow like crazy until it cut in 2 bar limit set on the AEM, can you some one help me with that? here is my mod list
06 IX MR
Aem ems
Built motor
Stage 3+ Head with 1mm+ supertech intake valves
Fp red with stock actuator
stock header
stock intake manifold
All supporting mods with 4" intake
Megan O2 housing
2.75" HKS downpipe
Tbe 3" HKS
I'm thinking of trying some thing:
Putting a tru-boost from AEM to control it ( more obvious )
Porting the wastegate flange on FP red and do a Bigger O2 housing and doing a 3" downpipe. ( thinking of the possibility of too much air on the o2 housing make the light billet compressor spinning like crazy and when more boost more air more gas and more speed in the turbine consquently producing more boost)
Thanks people

We could trade turbo's my stock evo 8 for your red that would solve your problem. lol Well if its over boosting then its probably your wastegate. I would try porting or just go with a different setup like maybe external. I had this problem on my supra and i had to weld the dump tube higher up on the mani.

Sounds like you need to open up the wastegate port in your O2 housing. Here's is a good place to start your research. What you're experiencing is "boost creep".

It sounds like the turbo is creeping the boost up top...0.8 bar is nowhere near the optimum operating range of a Red so maybe that's another part of your problem.
Curious as to why you're only boosting that amount with a build like that?

well before u get started rule out simple stuff:
1) what kind of boost controller do you have??
2) is that setup right?
3) are the vacuum lines from compressor nipple and wastegate actuator actually installed...?
4) well if your only boostin .8 bar, so u know 1.0 bar is 14 psi, so you might be boost creepin due to not enough flow for the stock wastegate..
theres only soo many things it could be... start with simple and then report back
good luck

Because with 1.5 bar setup it goes for 2.3 bar cut in minus than 1 secondOriginally Posted by raasfaas

I'll try this things, starting with the wategate porting. remembering that my tubine housing and my header is ceramic coated. I think dont have way of the air getting out, but I'll try it all.
Thank you for the help.

definately open up the w/g holes in the hotside + open up the megan o2 housing w/g hole as well.
both parts vary with opening size. you may have a hotside & o2 housing that are both very small.
I have eliminated overboosting / creep on several units by opening up the w/g holes in the hotside.
Good luck.
what boost controller are you using? is it something you used before or is it something new to your set-up?
