Rolling forward in neutral??

For the basics i have a Exedy Twin disc clutch and stock 6 speed trans.

My problem is while the car is in neutral and my foot is off of the clutch pedal the car will roll forward!? Everything frees up as normal when i press the clutch pedal in. Please help, ive searched and searched for answers and have had no luck.

I believe that means your clutch needs adjusted. Clutch isnt disengaging like it should. You need to adjust the adjustment bolt under the dash on the master cylinder.

Oh of curiosity, would this be true if you had a short shifter with brand new transmission. It only rolls about 2 or 3 feet then stops.

^^ reading comprehension? VtecThisEvo don't worry about it I've had 2 evos and they both do or did it, when the trans oil warms up it will go away.

Rev the car a little while in neutral, if it moves more then its your clutch not fully disengaged.

In neutral with the clutch out, the input shaft inside the transmission is spinning. This shaft has lots of gears on it.

If the ambient temperature is low enough and depending on what you are using as transmission gear oil, the oil being stirred by the input shaft, when very cold and stiff, can possess enough power to move the output shaft and hence the car. This is fluid coupling, the same as in an automatic transmission.

Not clutch or clutch adjustment related. It's the internals of the transmission due to cold temps & thick oil

Any suggestions for the type of oil to use; where moving forward while in neutral will not be a factor anymore?

I don't see this as a problem, only a curiosity. Normally, you start the car with the clutch down, put it in gear and drive off. If you are wanting to warm the car, the parking brake should be engaged. So, no need for swapping tranny oil.
