NEW Rear Differential Upgrade from TRE

I just noticed this on TRE's site. They have an upgraded side cover to prevent exploding your rear differential!

I have their MAX-LOCK rear differential in my Evo and it absolutely transformed the car. I was looking on Jon's site to show Full-Race Geoff their diff, when I stumbled across this beauty! There's more information on the site, but it seems to be a HUGE step in the right direction when trying to keep your drivetrain in one piece while launching the Evo. A must have IMO Looks like Jon will be getting my diff back again to have this put in

Check it out!

Very very nice. Definitely need to look into this upgrade in addition to the 12 plate max-lock. Awesome setup fo sho.

can the guys with TRE rear end upgrades with his maxlock chime in here on how it has helped at the drag strip. and how this HD side cover will help as well

is it heavier then the stock part or lighter?

try that link if the other doesn't work. You can navigate to that page from this one.

Evodan2004,
STM runs this diff in the Ricer. Seems to work well I also think that the chromoly piece will be heavier, but I would have to ask Jon himself. You can also upgrade this piece without going to the MAX-LOCK. They can be independent upgrades AFAIK.

I'll be sending my **** diff in to TRE for upgrades and to fix the existing problems in the near future. I may add this piece if Jon recommends it for my application.

Jon's workmanship is beyond description. As good as you can get! Perfection is his goal and that's why I'll be taking another transfer case and 5speed tranny to get them modified for our street car. Jon's attention to detail is what puts him at the top of the heap.

Took me about an hour to drop the diff. About 30 minutes to install it. Took Jon 1 day to turn around my diff and get it back in the mail.
