david, i just looked at your pics and you arent notching enough. No need to drill or tap anything, but you need to use a grinder. Its easier than you realize, and the front motor mount only needs 1 bolt. Very similar to putting an A/C turbokit on a vtec honda if youve ever done that..

Some photos outlining the large EFR fitment on the Full-Race Twinscroll Manifold are Here (at the bottom of page):

this is the postion the compressor housing will sit when you are finished, compressor housing properly oriented:

these 4 photos explain in more detail:

on my evo, i setup the car for this same turbokit as you initially, and this is my lower motor mount, i cut it as much as possible for max clearance, as long as you have a nice stiff front mount (i like the BLOX more than tq solutions because it is smaller) you will have no problems

blocking off the BOV wont solve this, and it is not recommended to weld on the aluminum compressor housing. It can cause the housing to warp and cause a permanent leak, we always try not to weld to comp hsgs here for that reason. If you want to keep AC and use a full length radiator and (2) wastegates, and a 3" downpipe, and an EFR turbo w/ integrated BOV, this car runs out of space.. just need to make a tiny bit more

Thanks geoff, i didnt think about just running one bolt, but its pretty much just a roll stopper and doesnt hold much weight so ill do that. It makes more sense to clock it lower than to hack up an irreplaceable compressor cover.

Dang, I could see that turning away a lot of people. Denting a water pipe or something that's replaceable is no big deal, but cutting off half the trans mount on the bell housing, that can't be undone.

Is it required on the 7670 and smaller versions as well?

we had 1st place in the dyno with 704whp thru a fully functioning catalytic converter (required for street class rules):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxcFD8sCdZc

and were in 2nd place in the autocross by 0.050 seconds (usually auto-x is our worst event). in the middle of the last autox runs we had a misfire:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXQIAItrRFo

and then by the time attack practice session 1 i had cyl #6 coilpack completely crap out. i tried swapping R34 RB26 coilpacks from a friends car but they didnt plug in. next i tried R33 RB25 coilpacks, they didnt plug in either. Then i ran out of time and missed my time attack session. I later learned the front passenger coilpack on a 93 infiniti Q45 was what i needed... i would have just gone to NAPA and bought that if i knew it, fail the good news is we had 1st place in the bag and gave it up, never DNS'd before but learned a lot and wont make that mistake again. I know my chassis and engine/turbo/driveline combo works, so youre gonna see the car out a lot more. I get married this weekend so ill be away for a few weeks, but when i get back to AZ ive got some plans for the R14

it is only required for 9180 and 8374 in the AC compatible position (aka dry sump compatible position) its not required to cut anything for the smaller turbos, you can even keep the stock radiator fans. After cutting there is still plenty of depth/threaded area for a stud or nut to go into. I didnt take pics clearly enough of that, but its a really deep threaded hole.

correct, particularly if you want to keep AC or use a drysump

Very cool Geoff. Nice job. sucks about the DNF. They happen....and most times have a significant impact and never happen again lol.

What boost on what fuel to make 704 with the 8374?

i'm going to guess and say 35psi.
The torque certainly has a massive rate of change.
The turbo should have another 90hp in it Geoff (79lb/min), where are those horses hiding!??

Got to love Dynapack dyno's!
New Zealand built!

Sorry about the DNF. The time attack was what I was looking forward to the most. Congratulations on getting married.

That 6 cylinder sure sounds good Geoff.
I better get me a rig like that pretty soon, before my hearing goes bad
