Looks like the 7163 is about to come out.
Pretty sure they have the Alloy centre housing too, which is a decent reduction in weight.
I'd love to get my hands on a 7367 sized turbo

Mhmm, lol.

Just dynod my Evo III, landed up with 630hp and 545tq

It runs a 2.0L 10:1 jes/R&R aluminum rods.

Wow, that is awesome power. What psi and gas were you using?

Jeepers. What did you do different from what you posted back in post #2068?

"The 7163 features a smaller frame and A/R than the 7064, but larger than the 6758. It's designed to better maintain boost than the 6758, and spools up much quicker than the 7064, slotting it perfectly in between the two turbos. The 7163 is also designed for the "sweet spot" of 400-600 HP, making it perfectly designed for most users. It comes with either a v-band or T25 inlet connection, and the twin-scroll housing is also an option. According to BorgWarner, the 7163 is nearly identical to the popular EFR 6758 but enables about 50 more peak horsepower"

Does anyone see this as a strange comment, seeming as the 6758 is rated to 450hp and the claim a 7163 will make 50hp more equals 500hp. Therefore the claim of being a 400-600hp sweetspot a little misleading?

I'm sure there are some willing candidates that will push the turbo to the ends of its efficiency map to see those numbers.

Also they could be talking engine power vs whp.

What he fails to mention is this is on a full corrected superflow, not uncorrected. This would be at 5000+ft so think 1.15-1.2+ on the correction.

I personally don't think much over 600whp is possible on a DJ with the 7670 less using nitrous or nitro. Maybe a perfect combination can do it, but I wasn't able to. Evosdad hit 600+ but iirc it's in Colorado where the CF plays more of a role in determining power. It's nice to be able to make the number uncorrected, not detracting from his numbers, but just stating the obvious.

I'm excited to see the 7163 used in a stock appearing R35 setup.

Did a bit more tuning and these numbers were on a mustang. And yes they are corrected.

Seems like Colorado is usually 1.23-1.25 on the correction factor. ~510WHP on a Mustang Dyno uncorrected. If you went by the corrected numbers, and it was set up the same as say Buschur's dyno, it should trap like 145mph at that 630 figure on a full weight car.

I would be surprised if it breaks 130mph if it is full weight though.

That would still a quick car for the altitude though, 6262s seem to run in that area here.

Here is a clip of a sweet NZ Motorsport Show. Disclaimer - This is supposed to be "fun" and should not be taken 100% seriously.

Carl Ruiterman is running the E&H Motors V11 Subaru STI WRX.
This is running a EFR 7670 (1.05 T4 TS EWG), 32psi with E85. Approx 450kwatw (600whp)

Enjoy!

The audio clip from this car is awesome - transient response on this car is insane coupled with the 6 speed sequential

Ketzel made a bunch of "High Octane" videos a while back, they are equally as entertaining and light hearted.

Ok turbo choice time.
Engine specs are: 9.0CR 2L LR, S2 cams, standard head, E85.

For a ~500whp (DJ) setup that is used for street, circuit and tight hillclimb/motorkhana, should I choose a 7064 or 7670?

Currently running a HTA Green and its boost response is about the max I want to lose vs standard, ideally response like a HKS 7460 is the goal.
Wanting ~460-480 at less than 28psi if possible to keep inlet temps at bay also.

Rear housing will be a 0.92 T4 IWG.

Cheers.
