GSC S1 cams reving to 7,800.
So, John, if you even see this post, someone with S1s on a stock turbo at the strip should be shifting at 7k then running out 4th through the trap?
I have been toying with different shift points and my fastest run to date was a redline 1-2 shift (7800), 7500 2-3 shift, and 7200 3-4 shift....
We all know that on a good launch the 9 turbo spools so damn fast that its all but impossible to not hit the limiter in the 1-2 shift but the rest is what im curious about.

pardon the resurrection, but is the s1 good enough for street use with an fp black or 6262? What if i dont want to do an s2 upgrade but just wanted to keep the stock spring reving only to 6500 for street use?
i guess i should say "who should not run an s1 on their evo9?" owners of big turbos like 6262 etc

Many People would suggest that you run the S2 on a bigger turbo even for street. There are people running the S2s on the stock 9 turbo and have no regrets. Plus the gains would definitely be more noticeable with the S2 on a larger frame turbo. That's my guess.
And you can run the S2's on the stock valve train but would have to keep it under 7k. S2 reving to 6500 should have no harm.
