Word. I've never pulled an transmission apart, anything I should be aware of? I will pull it apart with the bell housing facing down correct? I don't want anything falling out that I don't know where to put back lol.
If your tranny is completely out of the car you should be able to spin the shafts (input or output) no matter what gear it's in. I stripped the teeth on that outter shaft launching my car. Also mangled the center diff while I was at it
Now I have a shep tran and no problems so far. Oh and even with the mangled center diff I was able to spin the tranny with my hands, so it sounds like you have a serious issue.

New update:
I finally got the case halves apart this morning before I went into work. The initial look-through, all the gears look perfect! Not a single chip in any of the teeth, so it has to be one of the bearings. I have not had a chance to pull the shafts out to check the bearings that are hidden but the ones up top look pretty solid. They move freely and no play. All the gears seem to spin ok as well. Even the syncros look good. What looks odd though, and I wish I took a picture, is the output shaft bearing. There seems to be a ring on top of it that is not attached. I'll try to get a picture of it when I get home so you guys can see but here is this:

yeah man sorry, I started a new thread:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ld-thread.html
it did end up bearing input shaft bearing. I am pressing the new one on in the morning then start putting the tranny back together.
any idea how hard that bearing is to remove?
