TORN between turbo choices. Im losing sleep over this!!

Set up...evo9 Ultimate duty rods. Buschur mahle spec pistons. Fully ported head with m2s. L19 studs. Fully blue printed with balancers removed.
Supertech valve springs and retainers. Magnus smim w stacks. Boomba tb. Corresponding fuel set up. Going to be my daily driver probably on e85. Manifold is a twin scroll t4. Theres a good deal on ebay for a 6262 t4 .68 turbine but im thinking thats way too small. Looking to make 700+ without too much sacrifice in spool. My budget is 1500 please give me some input on what would work good and not bother me daily driving. Thank you!

Any reason particular reason your sticking with the T4 manifold ?

a 6262 .68 t4 seems like a mild supra turbo. seems like it would be laggy and almost want to run out up top on an evo.

You'd want a smaller housing for daily driving to aid quicker spool. I would say that is a good choice.

Any plans for a Meth Kit??? Might alleviate any concerns for lag in spooling.

Meth is a knock deterrent i dont think it will help with spool. The exhaust temps created from nitrous would help with spool.

Call up full-race. A s300 series ts t4 is well under $1,500 and will make great power and spool good.

HMMM, why do you want that setup in Fresno for a daily driver, you plan on driving all the way to Tulare for E-85, thats around 45 miles one way. Not to mention smog ***** everywhere especially in the neighboring town of CLOVIS. What are your goals, why do you want that setup, a better solution for spoolup and power like a FP BLACK is not in the equation? The black could come close to your hp goals on a Dynojet while still having a nice powerband, instead of one that looks like a sketch of Mt. Everest

This is coming from a guy that had HTA86 setup a while back, im happier with the performance of my black for a all around turbo, running 50/50 meth on 91 octane also, no two hour roundtrips for me to get E-85.

Going for those numbers on a daily and expecting NOT to spend more money is a little crazy. Just as someone mentioned earlier, hit up Full-Race and see what they have. You might be surprised.

As for e85, OP could always go the route and buy a couple 55gal drums ($47/drum @ VP, brand new) and fill them. That should last you a bit. e85 is way better than running meth. Once you do, you'll never want to go back to gas pump. For convenience though, it might be best to go meth, just not my cup of tea if ethanol is even remotely available.

And FP black compared to TS T4 turbo making the same power doesn't come with sacrifice. The black would have to work its **** off to reach the same numbers. It's apples and oranges really. I'm sure I will get plenty of disagreements, but REALITY is the FP Black will likely fail when pushed that hard compared to a daily driver TS T4 application, which would not have to be.

I agree about a T4 setup vs the black, but living in the same area as him, there is very few places he can even use the power that a T4 setup is capable of, and the closest track... Buttonwillow is a few hours away, that's why i switched to the black, but to each his own.

Id like to spend 1500 on turbine alone. Im not worried about smog. I hate clovis i try to stay away as much as possible. And yes that e85 station closed down. We have a ton of it we get from up north because a lot of our racecars and customers run e85 so we are always stocked up on it. As far as sticking with t4.. Well i really dont want to be limited to a small framed turbo. Granted the black would be a great all around turbo but i dont like their quality.

If you dont like fp's quality, run like hell from precision. You should really look into an 88/75.
