Michael,

that Garrett you cut apart.. was that a 3.8" cut down? obviously in that pic its no more than 6-7 rows?

We have found many of the garretts to vary!

also, it looks like you are using closer to a 1/4" tube? instead of 3/8" which is more what the garrett is?

Just curious, I think I've seen the newer core on an evo X we had here, and its a definite improvement over what you guys were using before.

The core above was a 3.8" - We used it on a 4.0" thick SRT-4 intercooler for a customer. He requested a Garrett core.

Our new pack uses the .25" charge rows

Thanks!

ETS was very flexible when I ordered my 4" ETS anodized intercooler. I specified the Garrett 3.8" core by Garrett part number, and Mike ordered it and built my intercooler around the Garrett core. It works VERY well, and the construction, fit, black anodizing, and PRICE were all very satisfactory.

I can't comment on whether their new cores are comparable or better to the Garrett 3.8" core, but their service and workmanship are great, and the price was better than any of the other "major" manufacturers of intercoolers.

Another thing everyone has overlooked it how strong the ETS fins are. The garrett fins bend if the wind blows the wrong way. My friend has a garrett core intercooler and he has to try and straighten out the fins constantly.

the density of the garret cores is what makes them cool properly efficiently!

Our TA car never gained more than 1-5 degrees over ambient temps with the garrett core.... regardless of construction... fin count etc... it simply WORKS....

bottom line.

There are nice intercoolers out there, but we have found the Garrett Core to simply work the best

Mike: Is the new ETS core design going to be available in all of the core thicknesses that you currently offer?

I have noticed that too. So basically the outer fin design is the same just more dense? I'm curious as to how much more denser is the new ETS version.

In conclusion the Garrett core "for the win" during the first 3 months, then ETS core ftw for longevity ?

We have been selling this core for the last 4 months. So anyone who purchased an intercooler and this time frame has the new core Instead of raising the price, we are offering it at the same price for the time being. The intercoolers cost us a lot more due to the new design and difference in fin pack design.

achilles3000 - Send me a PM and we can talk about what's going on. It's hard to get everything straight in this post. You can also give me a call at 360-263-3748

Thanks!

Call me crazy, but the ETS looks to have the same design as the ebay specials with those large staggered internal fins and 1/4" flow channels?
