what chassis is it?
if it's 4wd standard, then it's very easy.
If it's 2wd standard, then you need to cut the rear floor out and weld in an Evo floor.

I actually don't think the floor will be a problem... but I don't recall. You'll definitely need the Evo Fuel tank though. The Mirage tank doesn't have space for any of the rear diff or driveshaft.

Actually... if you want my personal opinion after going through MUCH of this. Either turbo the 4G93 as its actually a pretty good motor, OR... get the JDM 4G93T (which is a DOHC motor) and run that.

I recon that a proper turbo 4G93T could run in the high 12's with a decent driver.

Mine ran 12.4 right out of the box...

I would stick with the Evo (4g63) engine, there is so much room for improvement.

I got another question and its been awhile since I've been on but do you guys know if the 4G63 motor requires a right hand drive dash? If so where i could locate one? Also if i wanted to boost it do i need to have low compression pistons? Just any advice i will gladly take, im trying to get it where i can run low 12s, mid 11s and still drive it on the road. Thanks guys

Bump for new knowledge. I am attempting this soon as well and need to know a few things. I know already that the viii motor will work along with the trans and what mounts are needed. I also heard that the t case from a IV-VI would be needed but an Viii can be made to fit with a bit of cutting. Now I've already talked to a member about using a viii/ix floor pan and since it's wide like the Evo V/VI it can be used. The thing now is that what driveshaft would be needed ? If I can fit a viii t case and viii rear subframe and diff, is the driveshaft going to work ? Also what would you do about driveshaft carrier bearing hangers?

I have a CL2A hatch, evo 8 motor,4/5/6 tc and 8 engine loom. I kno 4/5/6 evo loom is plug and play but i would like to use the 8 loom. Has anyone done this before? If i use the 4/5/6 loom what do i have to change? Saw a post somewhere about having to change the intake but i cant find it back to find out why.
