hks bov how to install?

hks bov how to install?

i am running my hks "vta" and need to know how to install it. do you mount the hks bov to the intake pipe or the hose coming off the stock ic piping?

thats what i though but someone said hook it up like the stock one and mount it on the aftermarket intake pipe for "vta"

You have to weld on a flange then put it on it..Then run a vac line to the intake manifold off the stock bov line and it's done.

no you do not hook it up to the intake..it is hooked up like stock in the sense that its connected to the uicp, but since its vta when the pressure builds it vta since there is no other line running from the bov to the intake like in the stock configuration..you will have to plug the hole on the intake.....you should sell the bov and use a stock one. vta bov's are no good on evos unless you are converting to speed density

yea thats what i heard, but my stock crap plastic evo8 bov was leaking and not holding boost and i got a good deal on the hks. what bov do u recommend?

get an evo 9 one. they are metal and you can put it in a vice and crush the top down a 1/4 inch which will compress the spring more thus making it hold more without leaking. I tested mine to 30psi with no leaks

cool thanks, will the evo9 stock bov mount right in where the stock evo8 one goes? do i have to modify anything to get it to fit?

ok thanks for the info, ill look around for a better deal, do u know if u can hear the evo9 bov better than the evo8 bov? i have a aftermarket intake and can hear it a little.
