Holding more boost at redline

Hey everyone. I have an Evo IX with all the bolt-ons, ported exhaust mani, o2, hotside, etc. My car holds 28psi till about 6k and drops to 21.5psi at 7k. Anyways I can hold more boost by redline?

3 port boost solenoid & crushed MR BOV would help.

The most my stock turbo ever held was 26 psi till redline and peak was 28..I had a blox mbc clone of the hallman and was better in terms of spool and the way it held when compared to the hallman funny thing was I paid $70 for it.

Checked for any boost leaks?

Also, the tune can be a factor on how you hold boost. (not the boost tune)

Actually, you should feel blessed at being able to hold 28# with a IX turbo. the USDM IX turbo is the worst and most classical case of boost taper among the many 16G configurations that I am aware of.

Even if you got more boost up there the power wouldnt increase from the heat. 22 to 23 at 7500 is about it for HP

Exceeding the efficiency of the turbo at redline, sounds pretty reasonable to me.

have you tried the help spring? there is a how to in the engine section...

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...pring-mod.html

and try the dejon tools mr bov stop leak trick

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...it-mr-bov.html

when i did these on my stocker i was well into 30psi.. gauge max.. and it never tapered back into range...

add a water/meth kit for cooling and upgraded intercooler and enjoy your new power...
