Hey guys,

So I was racing a Mustang GT and was starting to win but my lower intercooler hose popped off.

Damn it all.

Now my turbo makes a wierd hiss/whistle sound when I go under boost.

I'm holding boost. I pulled hoses and found no cuts.

I don't know if this really counts cause I didn't check the other side of the turbo but on the side where the blades are, I ever so lightly spin the blade and there is no play in there. it feels solid/tight in there.

The only other thing I can think of to put in as a note in this,
I have a stock BOV and the stock 8 turbo. It did overboost during that race to 31psi.
Could the IC hose popping off while at 29-31psi have overspun it?

Does this really sound like a turbo on its way out the door?

its a boost leak. do a boost leak test. can make your own tester for no more than $20

that's what I kept thinking it was .. Cause she's still strong.
No smoke.
I should make my own tester but I'm around the corner from AWD Motorsports and they can do it for $50 .. I'd rather keep supporting those boys

Just an update,

Yep it was a boost leak.

It was the lower J pipe from the turbo.

I guess something flew up and hit my pipe when I racing that Mustang.

Whatever.
