mbc/boost pill questions

I just got my evo about a week ago. It was tuned and made 315hp @ 21lbs.
I was looking things over and noticed the mbc was hooked up wrong. They were still using one side of the stock boost solenoid but left the other side just venting to the air. So I capped off the solenoid on both sides and capped of the small nipple on the air intake pipe.

Then I saw that the lower boost pill was gone but upper one was still on.

I have read about installing a mbc but have not come across anything about leave just one boost pill in. Should I go ahead and remove the one that was left and just run the 21lbs?

Thanks

If you're using a MBC you should need any boost pills at all. And nothing should be vented to air in an MBC setup, unless you're referring to the factory vac lines coming off the solenoid (those lines can sit there since they aren't being used).

It should go: Compressor outlet > MBC In. Then MBC Out > Wastegate Actuator. No T's and no pills.

Will you be using the compressor housing's discharge nipple, or Teeing into the IM/DV hose for your MBC's boost reference source?

If you will be running an MBC, the factory BCS must have no hoses connected to any of its ports. You should leave the electrical connection plugged in though. There is no need to cap off the ports on the BCS either.

If you wanna do an ultra-clean MBC install, then don't reuse the factory boost/vacuum hose assembly. I mean don't try removing the pills from the factory hose assembly. Remove the factory hose assembly and store it for later use.

Go down to the autoparts store and buy a couple of yards of 4mm ID vacuum hose. Try to find a brass barbed "T" at an autoparts, or hardware store. Get some 1/4" hose clamps.

You did good in capping off the nipple on the factory MAF/intake hose.

sounds about right, but make sure that the hose from the turbo goes to the "in" of the mbc and the "out" goes to the wastegate.
