I'd give the demon a try, after all its only 45 bucks. Or you could look around on here and try to snag a MR bov. I'm just glad your not looking at hks ss blow off valve.

Good luck.

is the HKS bad?

The demon works with springs , it says
# Spring (Green) - 5-17psi (already installed)
# Spring (Yellow) - 17-26psi
# Spring (Red) - 26-40psi

That means that the bov will start leaking at 17 psi ?

Because at the moment i heard a loud hissing from my bov when doing a leak test at 13 psi. and my idle sucks which i think it is because of the BOV.

the demon looks to be a forge copy... and yes i believe the plunger will unseat at 17 psi. i have the forge and the red spring installed... i cleared my boost leak test beyond 30psi... you have to remember that the spring rate is progressive... the more it compresses the harder it pushes back... so its hard to get them to leak.

HKS blow-off valves sound the sweetest in my opinion.

Be sure to VTA and get the optional loudener for best drivability and sound

Why is that? Unlike other bov designs more boost only seals the hks one more. Very hard to make them leak.

I love the way mine sounds. No drivability issues for me. And I'm not even on speed density yet.

so you'd all recommend the second one forged with a spring in it?

I was just thinking in a ricer point of voice. Most kids put that on there car just for th swoosh noise when it fact, it hurts performance.

Ya on the evos it can hurt performance sometimes. My car handles it just fine tho. I don't have any problems with it. You won't have problems period if you do speed density. But I can see where your coming from.

its been my experience that theory isn't sound... they sell it under that idea... but the lil rubber seal is prone to fatigue and its just as easy for air to go around their plunger and it is anyone else's ... i bought a brand new one.. ran it for only a few weeks and it was leaking... constantly failed to open... and was just bad all around...

my forge has been amazing... but i'm about to upgrade in a few more weeks when i change to the fp black and 2.3l

You shouldn't be worrying about the sound of your BOV but how it performs...

OP just pick up a stock metal IX bov...
