The primary limiting factor with the stock 10.5 casting is the excessive backpressure due to the short radius through the turbine inlet area which incorporates the two siamesed bypass ports which are perpendicular to the axis of the scroll.

This is one of the reasons why BlackCarbon Evo and R/T Ernie modified the 10.5's turbine inlet area into an undivided entrance by removing the dividing wall.

The Black's compressor side is easily capable of over 700 WHP. The bottleneck is the turbine housing.

The vid of the wheel spin was stupid nuts. LOL.

No stock frame turbo is gonna get you to 700hp unless you modify it (or wait until FP eventually makes the Black DBB........With the release of the HKS it seems like its only a matter of time).

If fp came out with a dual ball bearing version of the black, put a bigger wheel on it, and at least made a external wastegate version, that would be fine with me, now that I know external wastegates are somewhat superior to internal it makes me wonder why fp even bothered with the whole internal wastegate, are there any pros to an internal wastegate?

Robert's FP Black is a masterpiece concept. The Black combines a 35R compressor side into a stock appearing package which is marginally CARB acceptable. It is almost a bolton 35R. Externally it looks stock. The housings are identical to MHI IX turbo. This turbo is nasty.

On a 2.0L engine this bolton turbo will produce close to what a 35R will. The problem is backpressure due to the dinky 10.5 turbine housing. But, the backpressure issue is actually more of a problem on larger displacement motors such as 2.3L, and 2.4L mills.

Has anyone seen or researched efr Borg Warner turbos? Are they external wastegates? I looked at the web site briefly and it looked complicated.

The can come either or if I'm not mistaken. And going external on fp black kinda defeats the reason it was created in the first place.

It does. I hit 40psi at 5000rpm. I'm loving it. 2.3 and HTA86 is a rockin' combo!!!

Meth is a secondary fuel source which also mixed with water or not will also decrease temps and decrease the likelihood of detonation at higher boost levels if im not mistaken. (Avoiding all of the technical reasoning). I was actually thinking the NOS would add O2 and the meth/water would be used to add fuel and cool the intake charge. Im actualy asking if the Added O2 to the meth/gas fuel would increase the acceleration of engine speeds to minimize lag (not really drop the spooling RPM, that being more a function of internal turbo casings and wheel design). I guess this is hurting the "detonation-helping" characteristics of meth but seems like it would be more efficientif tuned correctly. Please I would love to know what others think.

I use to like the 6262 but it couldn't handle my foot so I went to the 6765 and still broke it

A member on the forums made around 730whp on his fully built FP Black setup. The FP Black using the stock twin-scroll design will spool faster than any of the T3/T4 single scroll setups. I think it's a no brainer.
