Luckily Dynotech Tuning is near by, i know Jamie is a whiz-kid with the EVO ECU. So much so that David Buschur has been know to bounce some trouble shooting ideas off him in the past.

I didn't recommend a single cam gear to anyone. I would only recommend a single exhaust cam gear for evo IX's in certain situations. Cam gears can be quite beneficial on certain setups and cam choices. A single intake cam can yield some gains by shifting the powerband a little but it's hard to say how significant the gains will be. A few pulls on the dyno will quickly show you if any gains can be made.

i wasnt accusing you of anything dynotech, just bored on here tryin to help people out with there issues....i would assume if only running one cam gear on intake side, if advancin it would choke up off the top end power that it would make, or retarding the cam gear, i would assume wouldnt help all that much with top end. I feel ya on a ix though thats a different story since good luck tryin to put a cam gear on where the mivec gear goes haha....but best of luck man im sure you can figure out his issue.

No worries, I didn't think you were making any accusations

To get a ROUGH idea how cam angle timing can shift power, read up on the Evo X mivec adjustments people make in regards to advancing/retarding the mivec settings since they come with mivec clutches on both cams.
