Question for AMS??

Im trying to decide if I should buy the HKS 272 cams or the HKS 280 cams. Currently I have the 264s with the AMS stage 3 setup. I dont have the turbo upgrade, but on planning getting your kit very soon. Do you guys think its worth it to up grade? How much of a difference in Hp can there be switching from 264 to 272 or 280s. I just wanna hear about your thought about my situation. The other thing I wanted to ask you guys is. How much would it be to install cam gears? If I decide to change my cams out, would it be cheaper for me to do both cam gears and cams at the same time? Sorry for all the newbie questions. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

BTW AMS IS THE SHIzzz... =)
you guy are great

Thanks Guys

I had the 272's for 25K miles, and now I have the 280's. The 280's are more for high rpm, and mostly better suited for drags. The 272's were also awesome. the 264/272 combo is good for auto crossing. I guess it depends on what you want to do??!!! good luck.

Yes it is better and of course cheaper to do the gears and the cams at the same time. You wont have to tear down twice!

its cheaper to do the gears at the time of hte cams. you are only looking at a few extra dollars to toss them on.

in your situation I would use the 272/272 combo. its not the BEST for what you have now but its the best option for what you have and what you plan to do.

it is about a 40 dollars more for me to put the cam gears on with the cams at the same time.

sorry for the hijack, but has anyone tried the FP cams. I used to have the crower 414's and my car was nasty on the low to midrange torque. Since then I put a bigger turbo on the car which I know would be laggier but I lost all my torque down low and through the midrange. After I go to the 37r I will see if there is a difference in torque if not I will be selling the FP4's and going to the FP3's.

What do you guys think, and does anyone know the difference in power ranges between the 2 cams?

Once again, sorry for the hijack.
Thanks
