HKS SSQV vs MR bov

Hey guys,

Just a quickie for those that are clued up on the BOV side of things.
Currently running an MR valve, its holding boost fine (26-27psi peak, 24psi taper) however i'm guessing its nearly at its limit.
I'm only light on mods, and the power is only going to go up, along with the boost from here on.
Friend offered me a HKS SSQV valve (super sequential) comes with necessary hardware and recirc connection to allow it to sit in the OEM location.

Now from any engineering perspective, this thing looks sweet as it is a 'pull' type valve, the boost pressure behind it holds the valve firmly seated against the body, making it impossible to leak in theory.
Whats it like in practice though?

Bear in mind i'm getting this for free, obviously I know the Synapse, Tial etc. have the runs in the US, is this still a good swap that'll hold me in good stead?
I don't want to crush my MR valve, as i've heard it causes heavy transient throttle 'bucking' which i'm already experiencing now when road racing. I'd rather keep the MR valve in perfect nick and sell it.

Cheers.
Ben

I bought my car with the SSQ, granted it's VTA, it's my least favorite thing about the car. Very jerky, if you let half off the throttle it squeaks like an exploding kitten, and I had idle issues. Maybe it's better being recirc'd, but I would try it before I got rid of the MR one.

Good luck.

Yeah i'll give it a good run back to back.
Shouldn't sound like the chirpy bird like most do as the recirc option removed the fins that create the noise from what i can tell.
