I know that lots of guys are posting super good 1/4 times with their EVOs, even stock ones, but that does not mean that all EVOs can run like that.... Mine ran a best of 14.2xx the time I went to the dragstrip. That's with 3" catback & K&N drop in filter. Granted, I did not get a single good run, but nevertheless that's all i could do then
. Maybe now I can do better (more mods), and of course, I could drive better too (that makes a huge difference).Anyway, just for clarification and comparison purposes, I've run that same track at 14.13 - 99.xx mph in a supercharged GSR Integra (with street tires, lousy 60' times); 14.4XX - 94.xx mph with a WRX with turboback......

FYI- I would do (AT LEAST) what David is telling you if you don't want to spend all the cheddar. And if I can be a witness, BR products are TOP NOTCH. You can do a search and you can see for yourself.

Just yesterday, this riced out Celica GT-S (had one) hung with me pretty good and I was upset because I couldn't humiliate him. I didn't Launch. It was a 40mph rolling start. ok it wasn't a rolling start either he tried to do the fly by and I tried to deny it but I barely denied it. Is something wrong with my car.

Denying the fly-by is tough, especially if the car is putting down enough power to run with your car. I don't bother with that any more. I figure if they're going to be a wreckless ***, there's nothing I can do to stop them.
That's why street racing is stupid. If you are off a couple seconds on your start, the slower car can edge you out. Or if from a roll you hesitate for a second to see what the other driver is doing, bam, you lost. Playing catch up is dangerous and you need lots of HP to reel them in and pass.
or Civics. had some punk in a hatch Si keeping pace with me in 3rd gear. He had the RPMs in a very high range, 3rd or so. He would surge ahead and slow down. Are they that ignorant? I was in 3rd, hit full boost and see ya. Do they really think they can come close in their 15.5 sec civic with no torque.

Lots of peeps just like to play around with their cars & all..... Personally I would not take offence or umbrage.
ya he was proly just admiring it. i get that alot. they just want to see us go. now it's the stangs and camaros that i take ofense too. the guys that think we are the ricers. when in fact our cars can run 11's with like 3k or less in mods.. ive had soo many of them try and run me. so far they have had no luck yet..
Yeah, I guess, but out here everyone has limo tinted windows. I have had a lot of thumbs up from the import crowd. Nothing from the domestic crowd. I think they're intimidated by our beast.
Oops, let's get back on topic.
No, the stock exhaust is not too bad. The downpipe and muffler seem to be the most restrictive part. I run a WORKS exhale and not too concerned about the midpipe yet. I'm waiting to replace the downpipe, though, but want to get a MBC first just in case I lose boost.

In terms of trying to avoid extra penalties from the law and
warranties check out:

I've talked to a few dealers here in San Diego (we get the crap 91..or rather 90+ethanol, strict laws and lots of "curious" coppers) and they are friendly towards this exhaust, meaning somewhat
blessed. It's also 50 state legal and mets DOT 95db for sound. The DP is also street legal since it doesnt modify the stock cat (can you say BIG fine if you're busted in CA without at least a facsimile). I'm still stock but shopping for CA friendly exhausts.
