turboXS RFL ti exhaust opinions

whats up guys im in the mix for exhaust for my IX. im currently working a deal to get the turbo xs RFL ti full turboback. i have never heard this exhaust. from the pics it looks like a very good quality and very straight exhaust. on my last evo i have full AMS turboback with test pipe, any compariason in sound to that??? let me know if you have it or have heard it. also some pics of it installed would be cool. thanks in advance, just trying to get the best for this car.

I have the TurboXS cat-back, but I have the TTP downpipe and an Ultimate Racing highflow cat...So far it is my favorite exhaust. The only one I would consider changing to is the Greddy Ti.

Good luck - I'm sure you'll like it!

EDIT: The only thing I will tell you right now though is that you will need a heat shield for your bumper!

I have the turbo xs dp and rfl ti catback with the ultimate racing test pipe. Sounds great, not to loud at idle or just cruising.

You are lucky my friend...

if you did a search you would find my thread on this exhaust... anyway... Voila...

Plus a small video...

Plus some notes on the install...

got the exhaust from another EVO owner. The install was pretty straight forward. I got a new installation kit (gaskets, bolts etc). Some things that i noted during the install:

1. we had to trim the lambda sensor hanger to fit the 76mm pipe. Pretty easy...
2. we drilled a small hole and wired down the sensor wire away from the pipe and cat so it doesn't touch and maybe melt from the heat...
3. The original inner hanger of the original muffler is not used any more. One hanger less but it doesn't matter, as the TXS muffler is smaller and lighter from the original.
4. when you connect the midpipe on the cat, you use the stock gasket and bolts. Its a direct fit, eventhought that the TXS pipe is MUCH bigger... tight it and everything's ok...
5. For those who don't know, the TXS RFL Ti DOESN'T taper anywhere. its 100% 76mm piping...
6. It has one resonator on the midpipe. its a straight 76mm. a soda can slips in the midpipe from one way to another...

Now, as far as the noise is concerned... I have to say that the exhaust when you floor it is LOUD. I haven't heard too many exhausts to compare, but i guess its louder from the Greddy EVO2 and similar, and i guess its not louder than the non-resonated catbacks...

If you close your windows while on the highway and find the ideal pressure on the gas, then you can make it sound like the stock exhaust, up to around 3500rpm...

The WOT is very interesting... Its not high pitched... Its a deep loud sound. Its sounds as its supposed to sound for a turbocharged car. Before i drive the car after the install, i turned down my hallman half a turn (that's around 1 psi i think). However, i still have 22psi overboost, meaning that the catback gave me some boost pressure...

I should note that for me it has the BEST look on my car... I ve been searching the the "perfect" exhaust for months, even the 1500-2000 JDM ones... Except the Mine's which is my all time favourite, this comes first!!!

Perfect angle, perfect looks, perfect sound...

Ooohhh, my car is a WW 2006 EVO IX GSR...

Now if you use it along with a test pipe and downpipe, it will become LOUDER!!! personally because i dont want the harrasement from...you know who... probably i will install a second resonator on the midpipe... when i install the test-pipe (or HFC) and downpipe...

My last comment...i wish it still had the burned Ti tip... but anyway...

thanks kouzman i did actually searched and saw your pics. very nice, i wish you would have given it a rev or two during the vid tho haha. ill also keep your suggestions in mind during install. pics look good cant wait to seal this deal and get this exhaust.

reason i still made this thread after i saw your thread is that of course someone will be a little biased toward their exhaust. wanted to get the general consensus, seems its good to go.

I will try to get a couple of other videos this weekend if the weather is not bad...
I always complained of not getting enough or good videos from the exhaust threads... now i do the same...

You will be happy with this choice, i am telling you... Turbo-XS has great products... I think i will also buy their FMIC... price, reviews and looks make it a Winner....
