Transmission Cooler

Does any vendor sells a complete kit, including mounting bracket for cooler and pump for a transmission cooler kit?

I'm going to this and I guess I can purchase all the parts on my own but it would be great if a vendors offers a plug and play kit where you only have to drill the holes for the mounting bracket and call it a day.

Thanks!

I think Tomei or HKS had made one. At least RHDJapan had carried one once upon a time. Problem was it was well over $1000, whereas you can build one for about $500. Search the threads for the list of parts.

I'm debating between that one and this:

Does the fan makes a big difference enough to outperform a superior plate cooler?

I do not know but granted the Mishimoto is bigger and has a fan and a cheaper price are all good indication to try out..

Wanted to bring his back up for reviews. I am looking to source and build a trans cooler kit for 6 speed. Did the OP get this built?

Or any others have links they could guide me to. I see the MAP exchanger as a good option and the RB shaft driven pump for hot oil, as apposed to a diaphragm.

Track only no drag race for me. fyi.

There still is not definitive solution. Looks like RazorLab jumped to a 5 speed before installing a cooler, and all the other buzz built essentially from his parts list.

This is his thread. Its a long one....
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...es-mrs-36.html

This is the HKS kit. Its an expensive one....
http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=3937

and I found this universal on the RHD site. Its a small one.....

I believe that pump I posted earlier, and the mishimoto cooler with fan, might be a good combination, but I don't have any idea about fittings, lines, and connectors or that stuff. I suspect we also need a slick way to monitor temps. Using something that sends voltage and getting the ECUFlash gurus to find a way to code them and log that would be slick. MrFred, calling MrFred....

We also need an inline filter of some type I believe. Any comments or lessons on fittings would help to connect the above two (pump, cooler) and trans.

For instance, here
https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gr...D=PLUMADAP18MM

I don't know which 18m 1.5 to order for the trans lines.

Bumping this to see if anyone can chime in about logging Trans Temps via EvoScan. I have a complex cooler setup built, but not installed. I would like to log a track day without the cooler for some definitive data, and then install the cooler setup, and run another day.

Currently we have are planning on 104 F for my next track day which should be a pretty heated test, since track temps till add about 20 to that, plus then running the trans.

If anyone has ideas on a thermometer and possibly logging that data please jump in!

Ive read a few threads about trans coolers, and the results were very minimal.

Just a loop back here if anyone here didn't catch my post on my trans cooler finished and the temp reduction it provided. It was relatively simple from an install point of view.

supersnow, if you can handle drilling a few holes in aluminum, you just need to bend up the pieces a bit to fit existing threaded locations the way I did it. For all my comments and more details you can check out this
