Life Expectancy of Your Stock Turbo
Im at 96k miles stock turbo, stock block, stock cams with bolt ons and e85. Made 413whp/425wtq at 31 psi peak tapering to 27. Any of you guys making over 400 on stock turbos with higher mileage?

Mine has only 30k miles / 8 years (Not a DD since 07), but I saw earlier turbo failures (stock turbos). Causes I saw were:
1. Poor filtration of air filter - compressor wheel is degraded
2. Poor BOV or BOV spring setting - compressor surging
3. Poor engine oil quality and wrong change interval - worn bearings causes excessive shaft play - Enough ZDDP in the oil, and oil change before its viscosity is broken down due to fuel dilution (mainly caused by rich AFR) are important
I am sure too much back pressure caused by running excessive boost level at high rpm can also increase EGT and kill turbos, but that would be more "abrupt" failure than shorter lifetime.

I though my turbo was gonna explode one time I had a spike of 32 PSI. But there was no sign of shaft play when removed from the car years later. Yeah Mitsu turbo is good for life of the car if proper maintenance is in place.
Yep still on my stocker and the car is DD everyday for over 10 years and goes to the circuit as well. Bold is key.
