Nice test. Results that follow what science predicts... go figure

I'll add that while max power might not be greatly affected, the transient response WILL be; spool-up and on/off throttle response will be much better with cooler air.

Great test! Thanks for taking the time to do it. I hope somebody will send you a modded headlight to test.

Nice test, not surprising results, but no one had proved such a theory yet either.

a little off topic, but the two pop fasteners or whatever that hold the intake snorkel in is that something I could piece out at autozone? I tried going to the mitsu dealer to get them and they obviously don't have them and I don't feel like ordering it.

If you have the undertray off and laying around, you can use a couple fasteners from it.

I used the same shop vac tube like you Pegasus. I measured it and its not 3" like I said it was but it looks clean from the bumper view and works great. My deflector and air filter is not there due to my engine being out but you get the idea. Here are the pics.

Looks good man...I'm surprised you got that to fit like that with the ACD pump/res, etc...I didn't realize the Evo 8 bumper had that black cover/panel in front of the ACD pump...The IX bumper doesn't have that...I would much rather have that...Looks like it would make it funnel air better into the vac tube...
