New build need help car not running correctly w/mivec

hey guys i am having a problem with my car i took it down for the winter to get the head fixed because i thought i had bad valve seals turns out they were good and i had just some issues with some blow by when coming to a stop.

while the car was down i bought some fp5r cams the car has all the supporting mods ferrera valve train stock size super tech valves. pte6765, buschur mani, tripple disc, full blown and aem ems.

so i get around to starting the car the other day it started up like it had a dead miss on multiple cylinders so i stared checking fuel from the injectors, and park on all the cylinders all check out to be good and strong. I then check to see if the sprocket on the end of the exhuast cam was on backwards i changed it then it ran worse way worse. I switched it back to how it was.

I then started the car back up and founds out by unplugging the cam sensor to see if it will run worse of better to no avail it did not work i then checked the mivec solenoid on the back of the head unplugged it then held a steady idle at 1100 rpms nice and smooth no miss or anything i plugged it back in and it started to chop and miss horriblely and stall out almost immediately.

after that because i wanted to make sure everything was running ok and working correctly in the drivetrain ect i unplugged it let it idle in the driveway and then took it out for a drive around the block. it has no power wont build boost. what could be my problem i am running out of things to check that i can think of i am used to putting the car back together and running right the first time lol.

also i did have cosworth m2 cams in the car before these and the car was tuned for the set up only thing that was changed was cams thanks a lot guys please help me.

if mivec is full "ON" at idle, the car will not want to run.
This is because of the 30 degrees of overlap (cam) that it puts in.
With your car not making boost/power, that could be anything. I would not drive it if the mivec is not working correctly.
I see you have an AEM ECU. i would check that, and talk to a local tuner or someone that knows what they are doing with that system.
Check your Mivec table.

Cheers, Mike

so it could be just in the mivec mapping in the aem? that would be great if it is but if that was it wouldnt have ran this way before with the m2 cams or could it be that this is so much a bigger cam that it is effecting it like this. because it does still have the same map in the car from when it was running perfect. when i the solenoid is hooked up it is running on all the cylinders just so lopey and chopy that it will not idle sounds like it misses horrible when hitting the gas.

i know the cams are on time i have the jay racing cam gear locker i am going to check tomorrow after work and see if the crank is off a tooth it shouldnt be though. i am very religious about checking things over and over and over again. i even turn the motor over by hand everytime i set the belt the full firing order for every piston just to make sure i appreciate all the help guys.

i think it just needs a retune.
you have put in larger cams, so your mivec maps will be wrong for your current setup.
if you know anything about tuning, add timing and fuelling (lots of fuel) at your idle points.

from what you have said, you have some intake cam advance at idle (because when you disconnect the mivec solenoid, it idles better).
this is generally bad.
you should have zero mivec advance at idle and cruise to keep overlap to a minimum.
fix your mivec map

beware- changing mivec mapping will change your engine's VE.
changing the engines VE without retuning your car is extremely dangerous for your engines health.
take it for a tune
