smoke after boost and at idle

Ok so I parked my evo for the winter and decided to bu a few things. I purchased a used fp green hta from a member on here, 1000cc injectors, buschur intake pipe and ets fmic. Well I started on a remote tune last week and I started to notice the car smoking at idle a little more than usual. So then I did my first 3rd gear pull and after hitting full boost and decelerating a ton a smoke came pouring out of the exhaust. However I do not get any smoke what so ever when cruising and staying out of boost. Could I have been stiffed when I bought the turbo or could it be something else? Maybe valve stem seals?

Most likely the turbo. Sounds like shaft seals. Pull off the intake and check shaft play.

Blue smoke. And I thought it felt like a little too much shaft play when I got the turbo but I called fp and was told thy tend to have a little more shaft play and that it was probably fine. But I know my car didn't smoke when I parked it. That's why I was thinking turbo. Of course I can't get a reply out of the guy I bought it from either.

When I've had a turbo go out, the smoke was prevelant at idle and decel. Did u check movement of the shaft going in and out as well as up and down. There really shouldn't be any movement in and out of the blades. I would suggest pulling it and having it inspected by fp.

sounds like turbo but maybe you should do a compression test as well

I had a problem similar to this on my 1G. My problem was rings though. It was only on deceleration and lightly at idle. Hopefully it's just a turbo or something that doesn't require you to take apart the motor.

The reason I suspected the turbo first was bc my car didn't smoke when I parked it for the winter and now after changing those parts it does

I did a compression test and it came out 172/163/173/170. I talked to a guy at fp today and he said he thinks I have improper crankcase ventalation.
