weird sound coming from underneath car
Three weeks ago I changed the clutch in my car. I never did an evo 8 before, but have done many DSM's, subaru's, and my old evo X. It was a chore as most know, but it was completed and the car ran great without any hiccups.... or so I thought. Shortly after, I noticed that every time I start to drive the car after the motor has been turned off, I get this weird thump/grinding/dry sound coming from underneath. Its not too loud Its not an axle as I know what that sounds like and its not the clutch or TOB (ACT). I have a funny feeling it has to do with my ACD.
I did remove the ACD line from my transfercase during the clutch install and made sure it was put back and the system was refilled/bled prior to driving the car. The ACD does seem to operate ok. (I can see the fluid level going up and down while the car is either on or off or was just driven and the lights: tarmac, gravel, snow, all light up individually with whatever setting I have it on)
So this past weekend, I wanted to test to see if I can hear the ACD pump turning on prior to starting the car much like you would do when you bleed the system. I put the ignition on depressed the throttle pedal and the sound happend. I left the ignition on and pressed on the pedal again and it made the sound again.
Two theories: I need to bleed the system again and more thoroughly or the ACD system is not too fond of the Amsoil synthetic ATF that I used.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

A little more dignosing on my part last night...
I turned the ignition on and with the hood open, manually moved the throttle. The sound came around immediately and I noticed the fluid level in my ACD resevior dropped. I have a feeling thurough bleeding might be necessary. I'll give it a shot this weekend.

i wonder if you have the same thing going on as I do. I get a real nasty rotational scraping noise on cold start ups that goes away after a mile or two.
I wonder if my issue has to do with the ACD problem I have been having. ( lights come on. )
On your car, are the 3 led lights illuminated/ do you have a fault code?
When you bled the acd, did you use the scan tool?

I bled the ACD with the ignition on/apply WOT trick. My lights work independently of each other, depending on where I set it.
how do I go about finding the fault code if there is one?
