Methanol Kit or Race Gas?

hey guys, im running a Built 2.4L stroker, Build Bottom end, Built and Ported Race head, JM Sheet metal intake manifold, HTA3582R, Aeromotive A1000 Pump, AEM EMS etc, and im debating tuning the car for just straight C16 or Running the 93 oct. Pump Gas Tune with 100% Meth Injection. Its not a Daily Driver. I just drive it alot after work, and on weekends.

The meth kit i have in mind is the aquamist hfs-6 kit with the Fail Safe, Flow gauge etc. Im looking to make 650whp on C16 or pump+ meth. Ive heard some horror storys about meth kits and blowing motors but the aquamist kit seems pretty stout. Lets hear some oppinions!

lol thats the thing, if the aquamist kit is really that proven to be as safe as everyone says id rather spend the 40 bucks for 5 gallons of meth, or denatured alcohol, but at the same time if its a HUGE risk on my motor id rather pay the $16 dollars of insurance. I mean yes granted these are built cars and they could break at anytime from the power, id just hate to have it my motor fail due to methanol failure....boltz do you have any experience with VP 110?

i have an hfs6 on my car.. granted in on the stock turbo . but i run 31psi daily .
i will be putting on my fpblack i have sitting in a box here shortly and will still run methanol.
I have the failsafe all hooked up and it functions perfectly... ive tested it to make sure .

if you have the failsafes properly setup . theres no reason not to do the methanol..

now if your ballin out of control with cash .. you can run c16... but you could also just have e85 laying around in tanks and run that at about a 5th of the price.

I would personally suggest 110 or better race gas. It's just a safer fuel to use and is designed for racing engines. Hell, I run it in my stock turbo car just for fun sometimes and I love the way the car feels with it. Allows for a little more aggressive timing as well. The 110 in my area goes for about $5.60 a gallon

Honestly. With how much it sounds like you'll be driving, if you have a good E85 tuner, just keep a 55gal in your garage. C16 is a crappy option. HFS-6 is great, but there are drawbacks. Its not a black and white argument.

Is E-85 conveniently available in Fairfild, CT? You'll need to upgrade your Evo's fuel system so as to be able to run E-85 though.

I like Boltz's idea of buying a drum of e-85 and keeping it in the garage if there aren't any stations close by your house. You could have an alternate switchable 93 octane map(can you do map switching with an AEM EMS?) to fall back on for when you can't get the corn juice.
