Reverse lights out

Reverse lights out
Had my 03 VIII getting a new clutch Friday, the new clutch feels great, but I had to turn right around and take the car back when I saw my reverse lights were out. The shop looked at it for 30 min before closing time, but couldn't find an immediate cause. Are there any uncommon items in pulling and reinstalling the trany that can cause this?
I'm stuck driving my Son's Yaris and I hate it. I want my Evo back.

Could this could be related to the VSS sensor, not something in plain sight? I found the location for this, I'm trying to find the location for the reverse sensor; I don't have the car here so I can't run out and look.
