metal on metal grinding noise in reverse

So I installed new front axles...and now when I'm reversing...slowly such as trying to back in to a parking spot or out of one I'm getting a noise similar to the noise evo brakes make when applied at low speeds...my power steering pump is going out but I can't see it causing this as it usually just makes steering difficult on occasion...any ideas? Is this common like a problem with tcase...tranny, reverse gear? Typical when replacing front axles?

The OEM brake pads on my Evo would make noise but only in reverse.

i don't know what the hell this is, I don't know if my power steering pump is doing this or what...I know it's going bad but I don't see how it would all of a sudden start causing enough friction to make this much noise...and axles are supposed to be in there tight and are c clipped and everything so i doubt they're moving around and getting random friction unless something you can't see somewhere else in the axle is doing that...i need to get under the thing and figure it out because it's mostly just embarassing right now i've spent way too much into maintenance on this car to have it sounding worse than before
