DC sport True 3" down pipe??

Okay so after finding out awhile ago that my HKS dp is not a true 3" but a 2.75", i decided to upgrade and get another dp from a friend of mine. The new one i got is a DC sport dp with a cat delete, which btw its very nice. BUT i noticed that the DC sport dp its 3'' from the o2 housing to the hangers then it slims down to 2.5''. Is this normal with this dp? I dont understand why isnt it 3" all the way through?

Is there any TRUE 3" downpipes out there???

Go with a cobb, they actually use a decent metal for theirs. I have a greddy and the "stainless" tubing is a pretty ****ty grade and started to rust. I've got a friend with a cobb(has had it on longer than mine) and it is still shiny with a gold tint from the heat.

the DC sport one is actually a pretty good material and its not really the material that bothers me to be honest. I am just wondering why they don't make them fully 3", is there a reason behind it? Is this normal with all the 3'' dp?

The 2 downpipes I have owned have both been 3" at the mouth and at the rear flange, AMS and Megan so I do not think it is all that common for them to be smaller

I have the DC and it does not taper. Its a great piece and it eliminates the joint where a cat or test pipe would be.

I could only guess that your downpipe is made to bolt up to the stock cat?

no actually that pic of the downpipe looks about the right length for being a cat delete, that is interesting yet weird at the same time, maybe since they consider it a 3" they go by outside diameter haha..i dunno never seen that i couldve sworn my dc sports cat delete was a full 3" at both ends inside diameter.
