I'm around ~$17k in my build, and I'm about to add a catch can, built Shep 5-speed and some other misc parts. I will be around $19k. If you add on a 6765 or 3794 then I would be well into the $22k range.

I would recommend building the transfer case and rear differential last. Do the transmission first.

Im glad you are receiving good advice on how much it really takes to make that kind of power and run it reliably. Im going from 550ish to 750ish and already have spent an extra $10K, and I already had some over the top mods complete... Its a foolish game, but who once you feel the powa, who gives a crap.. hahaha.. good luck

Such a true statement. Also the little things like AN fittings, bolts, gauges, etc add up quickly.

Yea you said it. It is a foolish game for sure. I was thinking last night...I have a ~17k evo (estimated value) and if I go ahead and start modding to where I want it..then another ~20K into it. If I ever want to sell it...It's still worth around ~17K!! lol. Definitely not a good investment, but cars never really are (except for a very few).

So anyways on to the foolishness. I'm thinking I'll start with the fuel and Turbo and tune.
1600cc's and Double 340's
T3 67mm turbo (FP or PTE)
44 ewg
Good tune, conservative for what I have (stock block, etc)
and some custom fab to make it work with my IC piping and downpipe.

I'll run the maf until I start cranking the boost and have some more supporting mods. Cams will come next and then a built 2.0L.

I'm really surprised that the t3 67mm turbo can make that much power on the evo motors...I figured that I would need to be in the 71mm to 74mm range for inducer size for 800 to 900 whp.

Really appreciate all the advice too guys. You guys have actually been through it and there are alot of different opinions and ways to take a build. I want to try to do it once (not change turbos every 6 months, etc) and with minimal downtime and budget oriented.

I'll try and wait until next summer for the motor and tranny build, the diff and transfer will wait, as I don't see me really ******* on it until it's built anyways (I already baby the car).

Does that sound realistic? or do I need to lay down the crack pipe?? lol

Click on new build in my signature.

62 and 67mm turbos can make surprising power.
