2.3 Build....Which Pistons?

Having trouble finding any threads regarding the different mfgs of forged pistons out there and was hoping for some help. Planning on doing a 2.3 build and was leaning towards the Wiseco, but again, can't find any info on any of these pistons.

All of the major manufacturers make a 2.3L Piston which would be 2.0 block, 100mm crankshaft, and stock length rods.

We like the new JE Asymmetrical FSR Forging. They are JE Pistons newest design and they are available off the shelf for that application.

Like I said though if you don't want JE then Wiseco, CP, Manley, etc they all offer a off the shelf piston for that.

You can send us a PM for pricing on all those or if you have any other questions.

I was thinking the same thing. You get the block cheaper assuming no core, but you have to put on a lot of extra things to make it work. In the end, I think it comes out a wash.

soo im thinking a 2.4L since all the extra parts will probably add up in the end anyways..

i have seen pretty recently too a set of wiseco hd pistons with upgraded pins. the pin ripped right out of the bottom of the piston at 507 whp on a mustang dyno.. probally 1 in a million thing though. i have seen a lot of wiseco pistons builds with high whp though good luck man.

What exactly does custom mean in your particular case? What coating was applied to the pistons? Just wondering myself. Thanks.

Does Mahle make a suitable piston for this application?

Most definitely. Im running them for my new build, and they are one of the only companies that make a 86mm piston. 277grams for the piston, 411 for piston, locks, rings and pins.
