not necessary for 880cc pte. only very large injectors that require lower ipw's to make the injectors respond quicker (length they stay open) so the engine doesn't operate pig rich. the reason the patch was released is because there wasn't enough resolution in the changeability of the current ipw settings.. now there's more resolution and you can fine adjust it to suite your needs.

Ok I guess the next thing I need to address with the tune that didn't make sense to me is from having aem I had a wideband o2 sensor in the o2 housing. The guy who is doing the tuning had me replace that with the stock front o2 sensor. He said it was needed for tuning with th stock ecu. Is this correct? I believe the stock front o2 is narrow band if I'm not mistaken. Wouldnt he need some type of wideband?

the front o2 sensor is narrowband from the factory and is required for proper closed loop operation. the fuel trims will be adjusted based on the front o2 feedback specifically.

the wideband you can place on your testpipe instead, but definitely relocate the wideband so you have a wideband signal in the car.

i hope whoever is tuning your car maps the car well, otherwise the mods will be all gone to waste.

Ok that clears that up. Is there a way to log the wideband in evoscan? What do you mean "maps the car well"?

yes you can log the wideband in evoscan. as long as its either zeitronix, aem, lc1, and have a serial to usb cable for it or tap it into your ecu wiring for input.

what i mean by maps the car well is ... basically what im saying is, i hope he has experience with the RPM vs load axis design/style setup that the stock ecu uses and can properly create good shaped maps with proper values that are efficient for your specific setup to extract all the power safely.

If you're not close enough to drive to another tuner, give Tscompusa a shot. From what I've seen out of his email stock ecu tuning...the results are nothing less than superb

Ive spent so much on tuning lately that to have to pay someone else right now is crazy. I wish I would have spent money to just trailer the car to someone that has tuned similar setups.

ya completely understandable. hope it works out for you. you really need someone that focuses specifically on the stock ecu for large setups on these cars, as its quite different then other EMS's due to all the restrictive crap that's put in there from the factory for safety precautions. (load caps, fuel caps, preset trim caps, etc)

dont waste any more time or money with the current tuner, he obviously isnt working out. a lot of tuners get great reputations from fanboys that have never had a good tune and just post all over and hop on the train. "yeah, he's awesome! i got 450whp! it stalls and idles rough, but thats because i have 1,200cc injectors so its normal!".

I see your in PA. Where at in PA? I'm in MD so maybe not to far if I decide to move to a different tuner. What do you feel you could do with the setup I have? Pm me if you want.

Trust me I don't plan on wasting more money. But considering that I have paid for them to tune the car I'm expecting them to get it right. We will see how it goes!
